Laura is currently a firearms instructor with certifications from the National Rifle Association to teach NRA Basic Pistol, Basic Rifle, Basic Shotgun, Personal Protection Inside the Home and Personal Protection Outside the Home. She is certified by the State of Alaska to teach the Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit course. Laura’s goal is to teach families to shoot safely.
Laura co-authored with Joseph A. Nava, “Not Your Average Joe, A Selected Autobiography and Joe’s Wisdom on Shooting.”
Laura is president of the Alaska Interior Marksmanship Committee (AIM-COMM), a non-profit 501(c)(3) with a mission to foster the development of marksmanship, the safe and ethical use of firearms and to support and promote the use of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range in Fairbanks, Alaska. Laura and her team of instructors run the AIM-COMM Youth Rifle & Pistol Marksmanship Program, and teach youth ten years old through high school gun safety and the firearms sports.
Laura holds a B.A. in Business and an M.B.A. Born and raised in the Midwest, and she has lived in Alaska since 1982.
